Michael
G alternates between two
very different modes.
When he taps into his artistic side, Michael
returns to his roots in the visual arts. Using the figure-painting, sculpture,
graphics and
photography skills he developed while earning his degree in fine arts, Michael
pursues the perfect portrait. To him, "portrait" means the spirit
and soul of the
subject, whether it is a person of place. “It is a combination," he says, “of lighting, camera
work, attitude—and the digital paintbrush.” Michael tells of the musician’s portrait he made recently. “He
played the Ave Maria with such delicacy and emotion that we cried tears of
joy. I took him aside, recognizing how comfortable and confident he was in
expressing his emotions through the violin. When I convinced him to do that with
his eyes, we got a great portrait. When you look into his
eyes, you can feel the
connection."
As a program manager, Michael writes and produces marketing and
education programs, primarily in the health care field. Mr. Glinski has over thirty
years of experience—especially in diagnostic imaging—including business systems,
customer support, education, program management, production, sales and
marketing. Mr. Glinski is the associate editor of the A.C.C.M.E. accredited
diagnostic imaging reference text Medical Imaging Consultant
—now in its
second printing of the third edition, and available for handheld P.D.A.s. Michael’s work includes
co-authoring and producing education titles for the health care practitioners and consumers on the subject
of informed participation in weighing the benefits and risks of diagnostic
imaging exams. He is the associate editor of a web delivered proficiency program
for physicians who order imaging tests, and has produced numerous Physician
Recognition Award
category 1 accredited clinical education programs for radiologists and ordering
physicians. Michael developed an online program that profiles imaging
centers, resulting in an intercomparable assessment that measures quality in the
categories of policy, personnel and equipment. The program is being evaluated by
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for evaluating Medicare
providers.
